The American Life Sciences Innovation Council
awarded Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.) the 2020 Champion of Health Care Innovation Award in an online presentation held Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021.
The award recognizes Hudson's past and current efforts in Congress and in North Carolina to protect and nurture the important policies that position America as the world’s leading force in the innovative life sciences.
“In considering members of Congress and the Senate who are deserving of recognition for their efforts, ALSIC prioritized strong and consistent leadership in support of medical progress and an environment in which America’s innovative life sciences industry can thrive,” ALSIC board member Stephen Knuth wrote in a letter to Tillis.
“North Carolina’s patient, professional and business advocacy organizations, which are part of the engine driving medical advancement, need champions like you who understand the importance of ensuring patients’ access to today’s treatments while also fostering the next generation of therapies. The future of our economy, applied medical knowledge, and the health of our nation depend on leaders like you.”
